BRILLIANT BASILDON AT ITS BEST !!!
Come and run around the beautiful Gloucester Park in the heart of Basildon, with lovely lakes and beautiful flat paths. This is sure to be a fun and fast course.
Starting and finishing at the athletics track inside Basildon Sporting Village, runners will loop around the park will follow the periphery roads for a short section and re-etner to park around the lakes and back to the finish.
Two laps to make it 10km, with a water station at half way and medals and snacks for all finishers.
New Route 2026 :
Starting at the track and looping round clockwise before leaving and entering Gloucester Park runners will head right and towards the first mini bridge before turning left towards the small lake nearest to the periphery of the park next to Ghyllgrove road.
Runners will go past the small lake out of the park onto the path of Ghyllgrove and turn right. Following the path runners will go past Butneys and The Gore and will then turn right up Audley Way.
Following Audley Way all the way until it joins the footpath that re-enters Gloucester Park (signs and marshals will direct the way).
Following around Gloucester Park reed pond and looping round the head of the pond to turn right and continuing on the path to the mini bridge in the park before heading left on the long straight path that leads parallel to the long lake. Getting to the end of this lake runners follow the path around the edge of the park and follow this all the way back to Basildon Sporting Village.
Runners will go through the middle (rear) of the centre and will go past a water station before heading out for a second lap following the same route as above to loop around and come back to the track to finish 10km.
All runners will get to start and finish in the famous Basildon Athletics Track. Where British, European and World Champions have trained before them !!
All runners will receive a bespoke finishers medal, a snack and a drink at the end of their 10km.
The registration desk will be open as soon as the centre opens and will be accessible next to the track.
Runners to collect their numbers and be ready for a 9am start.
Marshals and arrow signs will direct runners around the course which is two laps.
